All four courses start and end at WSU’s Puyallup
Research & Extension Center is located at 7612 Pioneer Way East
just west of downtown Puyallup (Directions)
and wind through the scenic Puyallup Valley. Live music, a beer//wine
/root beer float garden and BBQ await you at the finish line.
Each course includes a rest stop at the Emergency Food Network's 8 acre
Organic Farm ourside of Orting, which each year produces more than 140,000
pounds of organic produce for Pierce County food banks.
Why Ride?
Washington State consistently has
one of the highest hunger rates in
the country. All the funds you raise will go to support the work of
the Food Connection, Pierce
County’s largest food bank.
The Food Connection serves more than 20% of food bank
clients in Pierce County.
The Food Connection provides backpacks of food on Friday
to
students at risk of hunger at two
local elementary schools, and
sponsors two Summer Meals sites.
Our Saturday mobile food bank to Lakewood’s Springbrook
neighborhood serves 125
households each week. A
teacher at the nearby elementary school said: “I noticed
an immediate difference when the mobile food bank started because my
students no longer came to schoool hungry on Monday
mornings.”
