There are hungry kids in every county in Washington during the summer.

367,000 families in Washington face the threat of hunger every day; 452,076 school kids get free or reduced price meals during the school year. Many of them rely on the federal Summer Food Service Program (Summer Meals) that provides free meals and snacks to children and teens to ensure that they have enough to eat when school is out. The Food Connection's Summer Meals sites serve lunch and a snack to more than 600 children in Tacoma, Lakewood and Burlington every weekday throughout the summer.

Begin with shorter distances on level terrain and work up to more challenging courses. Include stretches in your workout. They take very little time and will help minimize discomfort and injury.
